A Tradition of Excellence

The School District of the City of Saginaw has a rich history of excellence and achievement dating back to its incorporation in 1926. For more than 80 years, Saginaw County’s largest and most diverse school system has produced leaders in the arts, business, science, government and athletics. The most recent generation of students has added to this tradition of excellence by excelling in state and national competitions that have included dance, visual arts, performing arts, science and engineering, robotics, writing, theatre, mathematics and athletics. Many recent graduates are displaying their skills on a national stage. Others are enriching their communities. From Sonny Stitt to Morgan McMillon, Jack O’Brien to Sophina Brown, Nelle Witters to Romanna Flores, Ernie Thompson to Jason Richardson, graduates of the School District of the City of Saginaw continue to excel.
